Andrew Pinder
Andrew is Senior Vice President for Government for Entrust Inc, one of the world's most experienced security solutions companies. He is however best known for his four years (2000-4) for his spell as the UK 's E-Envoy, a role that reported directly to the UK Prime Minister, and combined the twin functions of UK Government CIO with that of responsibility for the development of the knowledge economy throughout the UK . He was also the UK 's Central Sponsor for Information Assurance. During his spell as E-Envoy the UK moved from near the bottom of the OECD and UN League tables for ‘e-readiness', to joint top in 2004
Prior to rejoining Government in 2000, Andrew ran European Operations and Technology for Europe for Citibank, and prior to that he was Head of Operations and Technology for Prudential. Earlier, he started his career in technology in the UK Civil Service in the 1980s, where he rose to become Director of Information Technology at the UK tax department.
Andrew has, therefore, very extensive senior experience in both the public and private sectors, in an international environment. He combines his current work for Entrust with Chairmanship of the UK Government Agency responsible for technology in the UK education sector, and also acts as an advisor to many Governments and other organisations around the world.
